Challenge

At a production site, a large number of pressure vessels needed to be recertified under the Commodities Act Pressure Equipment (WBDA 2016). Due to new regulations, critical data on the condition and history of the equipment was missing. A full reassessment of 30 pressure vessels across various installations was required. The goal was to achieve full compliance while avoiding operational downtime.

• Preliminary research and data collection: Physical and digital archives were reviewed to collect missing documentation, such as manufacturing records and process data. This research formed the foundation for the reassessment.

• Inspections and reassessment: Visual inspections and wall thickness measurements were carried out on 30 pressure vessels across multiple installations. Findings were supplemented with photo documentation and reports delivered in PDF format.

• Support for certification: The collected data was organised and submitted to the notified body (NOBONL-CBI), enabling reassessment and certification in accordance with WBDA 2016.
